The study examines the transformation of the role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in the world economy in the context of the decisions adopted by the Russia-India-China format at the summit held in September 2025. The relevance of the research is determined by the growing geoeconomic importance of the Eurasian space, the intensification of integration-related frictions between China and India, and the need to understand how the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation adjusts to the evolving regional architecture. The timeliness of the study is reinforced by the expansion of the organisation, the acceleration of trade flows, and the increasing complexity of strategic interaction among its member states. The purpose of the research is to identify the factors that shape the economic potential of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and to assess the influence of the 2025 decisions of the Russia-India-China format on the dynamics of regional integration. To achieve this objective, the study examines Chinese, Russian and Indian analytical perspectives; compares the structure of trade and energy relations among the three countries; and identifies key geopolitical and institutional constraints affecting the development of the organisation. The methodological framework draws on the concepts of regional interdependence, multi-level global governance and the idea of infrastructural development within large Eurasian integration projects. The analysis employs principles of normative power, institutional flexibility and the strategic autonomy of states. The findings reveal divergences in the strategic priorities of China and Russia, clarify the structure of trade and energy flows within the Russia-India-China triangle, and identify the main sources of tension limiting deeper cooperation. The novelty of the study lies in its comprehensive interpretation of the 2025 decisions as a driver of the economic strengthening of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and in specifying the mediating role of Russia in reducing regional contradictions. The results show that the future development of the organisation depends on the ability of its member states to build coordinated mechanisms of economic governance and mitigate structural and geopolitical constraints.
